Entry Updates
Guide
There may be instances where you need to update an entry after it has been accepted and released. The platform allows you to make various updates depending on the specific requirements of the entry.
- Accessing the Update Option
- Once your entry is in an accepted status and has been released, navigate to the entry you wish to update.
-
Click on the "Update" button to access the available update options.
- Selecting the Update Type
- You will be presented with five different update options:
- Resend Entry Summary and Cargo Release Combined: Use this if both the entry summary and cargo release need to be resent, especially if there has been a rejection.
- Bill of Lading Update: This option is for making specific changes to the bill of lading, such as updating quantity information. (Note: Color codes—green, yellow, and red—indicate the likelihood of success: green for good, yellow for caution, and red for disallowed changes.)
- Entry Summary Only: Choose this if you only need to update the entry summary, particularly if cargo release has already been secured.
- PGA (Partner Government Agency) Only Update: Use this option if you received a rejection from an agency like the FDA and need to correct the PGA information.
- Cargo Release Replace: This is used in rare cases when you need to completely replace the cargo release information.
- You will be presented with five different update options:
- Updating the Bill of Lading
- For this example, if you need to update the bill of lading, select "Bill of Lading Update" and click "Next."
- Confirm the action when prompted to proceed with the update.
-
Making Adjustments to the Entry
- After selecting the update type, the status of the entry will change, and you will be returned to the entry screen.
- In this screen, you can adjust certain details:
- Header Information: Change the ports or other details as necessary.
- Bill of Lading Information: Update the manifested quantity, piece count, and other relevant details.
Note: You cannot modify quantities or other details that are part of the entry summary during this process.
- Finalizing the Update
- Once all necessary updates are made, click on "Cargo Release Final Review."
- Review the updated documents, then click "Accept" and "File."
- You will receive confirmation messages from customs, indicating that the updates have been accepted and processed.
